The truth is you don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow. Well, I had no idea either!
Summer in London is also about flower field. After some Instagram scrolling and seen some gorgeous shots in Hitchin Lavender Field, I persuaded Alice that it would be our best photo shoot of the summer. Chop-chop, in the train direction the north of London (it’s not even London). The most interesting part was that the field grouped together: lavender and sunflower fields, perfect! I already had conceptualized everything for the photos, ready to make wonderful cliches.
After one hour of train, we arrived in the countryside without any bus. First issue: call a cab. Finally, we arrived at the field and the entry was 6£. Then having paid tickets, it began to rain like crazy! I’m not joking.
Despite my shoes with a heel of 5 cms of mud, we ended up making some photos during the golden hour. Let’s stay positive. But soon enough another small disappointment, all the sunflowers were broken by the rain of these past days… So, I decided to cut two sunflowers (I took them home after haha). After all that, everything went very well and we had a lot of laughs as usual 💓 And then we had a snack (at 8pm) with a gorgeous matcha cake for reward.
Finally, I had some difficulties to edit the photos. I had to think several times about colours to give the perfect depiction. I also resurrect the sunflowers after the disaster of the rain (thank you Photoshop). That’s why I publish the article a bit late. But I wanted to publish it before autumn and before it doesn’t make any sense haha.
Last funny anecdote: by leaving the taxi at the station, the driver left us without our bags , Alice ran after the car on the road, (I’m going to have this image in my head for long time now) I laughed so hard! Fortunately the driver came back after we contacted him by phone. And we were able to return in London with a lot of hilarious memories just for a photo shoot in a flower field! What do you say? Was it worth it?
